Who You're Supporting

Thank you for joining forces with Refuge for Women Chicago to bring survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation out of the darkness! Our mission is to empower sexually exploited women to live a life of freedom through faith-based, residential healing programs.

Did you know? 80% of rescued or exited victims of trafficking and exploitation return to the violent chaos of the sex trade if no long-term programs are available? We're not okay with that reality! That's where we step in.

Survivors are offered 2+ years of long-term residential healing programs at no charge* to address their trauma, aid in their recovery, and foster independence through:

  • Safe housing, food, clothing
  • 24/7 staffing care (Long Term Home)
  • Weekly trauma counseling
  • Medical/dental/vision treatment
  • Addiction recovery programs
  • Equine and art therapy
  • Spiritual growth and discipleship
  • Health and wellness classes
  • Life skills development
  • GED completion and college courses
  • Mentorship
  • Transportation
  • Career preparation and placement
  • Transitional living with continued case management
  • Hope and dignity!

Consider some of the costs for just one survivor in our program:

  • 1 Night of Safety = $275
  • 1 Week of Case Management = $1,100
  • 1 Year of Counseling: $16,460

Now consider your impact! Your partnership goes beyond a financial investment ... it's bringing hope, healing, and dignity to women who have suffered profound abuse and injustice.

We look forward to your commitment as an attendee and/or sponsor at our Victory Gala!

*(Transitional Living requires small program fee)

— Her Victories —

"Having a chance to heal in a safe place means somebody thought I was worth it, even when I dared not believe I was."

"My childhood experiences made me believe that I could not be loved. Because of you, I actually believe I am worthy of love now."

"I had nothing ... forced to be a prostitute, addicted, sick ... until I cried out to God to help me. He sent my trafficker to jail, delivered me from drugs, helped me mourn, and restored my health."

“I am brave. I never say that about myself because I would always run away from things. But I can say I am brave now.”

"For so long I prayed for a home. I was living in my car, asking God to bring me a home. And wouldn't you know it -- here I am now -- home at Refuge!"

“I’m thankful for finding Jesus, getting sober for the first time in 17 years, and having the support I need to build a sustaining life for the first time.”

"This new positive experience in a new environment, in a new location, around new people, and trying new activities has worked wonders for me."

"Before I came here, I always walked with my head down. People even used to point it out to me. I was ashamed of my life. But now, I walk with my head held high! My past has no hold on me!"

"I definitely had to get out of my victim mentality and learn that what people did to me, and the life I had been born into, did not determine the character of God who created me."
